Reflection 7

Before yesterday I didn't really pay attention to that because I took it as a normal thing but after just looking at my 3 years old sister coping with our tablet without any help I realized how amusing is that. On the one hand, it's such an insane thing for me to comprehend that child this age could manage YouTube on her own, but on the other hand, I think in our times it's not such an unusual thing anymore. After looking at my sister behavior while she was watching those cartoons on YT I came to the conclusion that this isn't the best thing for children. Parents clearly aren't paying much attention to their kids when they are just watching cartoons because they can handle it on its own. However, that leads to children watching basically everything they want. They don't have any kind of filter, they are just clicking on anything that seems interesting for them. By giving those small kids the ability to use the internet as they please we also lose control of everything they can see there- the ads probably not suitable for children, weird videos etc. I'm sure that sooner or later the effect of using the internet at such a young age will come out and it probably won't be positive.

    The studies are already there because this has been going on for over a decade. And indeed, they show that kids who use computers (smartphones, tablets) a lot demonstrate very short concentration span and problems with developing social skills. And we are only talking about kids who watch stuff their parents control.
    But apparently there are some positive effects too.

What does it mean to be a real man in today's world?

I think in our times it's a bit confusing for even a man to define what does it mean to be a "real man". And for me being a woman it's even harder to describe it and I can only guess. However, in my opinion, being a real man is, in fact, being your true self. Accepting your weaknesses and knowing your strengths. Of course, there are some popular believes that men should be self-confident, strong, successful, shouldn't be afraid to stand up for what they believe, yet I think that those characteristics don't only apply only for men, but also for women.  To sum it up, I believe that the key to being a real man/ real human is just to be yourself and be kind to others.

Reflection 2

The recent reflection that came to my mind was actually during geography class when we were looking at the map of the Kielce at its surroundings and the girls at my group weren't sure whether the cave was in Kielce or in some village next to it. And then I just remembered that I was actually in that cave so I could resolve their doubts. The thought that came to my mind, later on, was that travel truly broadens your mind. It's just so much easier to make connections and figure out things when you were somewhere and just remembered how it was.
